Grant Potter Family Benefit – October 2

What a wonderful community we live in! Always generously giving of time, effort and yes, money when there is a good cause!

So what’s the good cause today? Grant Potter was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident two weeks ago. Grant was the Town’s Recreation Director, a community and church leader, and a strong advocate for active living. And perhaps most importantly, he was a family man, leaving behind a wife and three children.  (For a bit more on Grant, from my personal perspective, click here.)

So to honour Grant’s memory, and to provide financial support to his family in the time ahead, Grant’s friends and colleagues have organized the Grant Potter Family Benefit – a day of fun, music, sports & games, auctions… all to raise money for the family.

And don’t forget about the Terry Fox Run on Sunday October 3, starting at Town Hall at 2pm. This event, normally organized b y Grant, was postponed from a couple weeks ago for obvious reasons. We ask everyone to come out Sunday to walk, bike or run as a tribute to Grant AND Terry Fox and to raise money for cancer research.
